Growing up I always wonder what it is about taxi drivers that ticks people of..I always argued that one should give them a break. I mean for crying out loud, these guys were providing transport for us in the morning so we go to work. So basically, i thought "without these guys we would not pitch for work and we would be paid at the end of the month, hence this would lead to poverty"...But now I HAVE HAD IT WITH TAXI DRIVERS!
It is nothing personal that happened to me... It is about Nwabisa Ngcukana [the girl who was sexually molested by the taxi drivers at Noord]. Ok, i am totally against mini-skirts but that gives the taxi drivers no right to have done that to her..Can u imagine that happening to you..?Now that girl is famous for being molested??It is horrific, she is going to live with that memory for the rest of her life..!
She faced her demons yesterday when she went to Noord for the first time since that dreadful day...[www.sowetan.co.za] She encouraged woman to be "defiant but not put yourself in danger"...A couple of proterst took place during this week, being led by 702 Dj Redi Direko, at Noord and made their voice to be heard.."Wathinta abafazi wa thinta imbokodo"...[you touch a woman you touch a rock]...Minister of Safety and security..Yes..YOU..DO SOMETHING!!!

I'm one of those people who experience 'Taxi Driver' hospitality on a daily basis and its sad how we've all learned to live with it and laugh it off.. But I do believe its this mentality that gives them the attitude being Invincible-They feel they can do anything!! And that is not a way to live. These acts of Barbarism bring such a bad name to the Transport industry that I'm afraid by the year 2010, it won't be ready to accomodate the influx of good foreign money..
