I have never feared death so much in my life since violent attacks by the cops at Wits University. I was in Alexandra - north of Johannesburg during the intense Xenophobic attacks and I saw a dead body and two severely beaten up people with blood streaming down their faces..It was good for my career as a journalist but tell you what: "I ALMOST PEED IN MY PANTS"..I'm not fooling around that was not good to see. Our country is in a crisis as much as we laugh at other countries when crap like that is happening in thier country..look at us now!!A Malawian, and thousands of Zim residents will be sleeping in run down buildings or no where at all this week as they were forcefully removed from their dwelling places..! The residents said the government were not doing anything about the situation so they were taking matter into their own hands..! What the Hell..South African's come on now..!!!

Those were incredible events you experienced Journo, I can't imagine what those fellow Africans are feeling right now... Homeless, hurt physiaclly & emotionally.
I don't support crime that ANY person commits, wether they're foreign or not. But taking the law into your own hands is unwise and unjust!!! These people attacked people(Women) that they can't even prove are guilty of any of the things they claim. How do they know the foreigners took their jobs?? Its not fair to be a judge and executioner when you don't even have all the facts. I feel remorse and sadness at the way these people were treated by South Africans...Not long ago many South Africans seeked asylum in many other african countries during the struggle with apartheid, I don't remember them being attacked for being there.. There's a Zulu saying taht says "Izandla ziyagezana" and another one "Umuntu umuntu ngabantu" they just basically mean we all need each other especially as fellow africans and Black people.
With all that being said.. I just want to say I commend how you put your life on the line so you can deliver facts to the country. I mentioned in a previous comment that your job as journalist is noble and I say again that it should not be taken lightly(and maybe should pay MORE!!) Proud of you Journo!!!
