I'm moving to the sports sections of The Times as of Monday 14th July..and day and night I keep thinking to myself..."Will I be like one of these"? Now these men have built a name for themselves in the sports (soccer) fraternity and they are well respected for their knowledge of the business...
I'm talking about Mninawa Ntloko and Bareng-Batho Kortjaas. Ntloko wrote for The Times but was later recruited back by Business Day and BBK is currently with the Sunday Times and does the Metro FM sports show...Clearly these men have built a name for themselves, no doubt about that. I'm a bit nervous and excited at the same time...Is passion enough for this or I need more than just passion, determination and hard-work?
Whatch this space...I resume my duties on the 14th July.!

It must exciting and nerve racking to be moving..? With the passion you have for this thing you are going to get far. I'd say you have the right ingredients: passion, drive a love for sports. It should come out with succes and you making a name for yourself. I think if you don't have these you would not crack it there. Its the kind of thing(sports) where you have to know what you talking about and atleast be interested in it as well. If not it will be evident in your writing and it works both ways. I wish you all of the best we'll all be watching this space..
I have the same fears as to whether I will achieve the things I want to and so far, from my experience, believe that being passionate, working hard and just not taking no for an answer will definitely get you there.
All the best and will keep on watching the space. You gonna be something BIG.
